Roasted Apple Tarts

This holiday, create the perfect apple dessert – so simple, easy and delicious! Our Roasted Apple Tarts consist of only 5 ingredients and make your whole kitchen smell of baked apples and spices.



1 box puff pastry (store bought is fine!)

8 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced

1 cup frangipane/almond cream (optional)

1 cup sugar + tablespoon extra for sprinkling

1 tablespoon cinnamon + tablespoon extra for sprinkling

Frangipane (Almond Cream):

¼ cup, plus 1 ½ teaspoons room temperature unsalted butter

¼ cup, plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

½ cup almond flour

1 medium egg

2 tablespoons flour


Frangipane (Almond Cream):

Stir everything together until combined, will be a paste-like consistency


Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut both puff pastry sheets in 6” rectangles. Press a fork into the in the center of each rectangle creating a cross-hatch pattern and leaving a ½ inch border. Spread frangipane (almond cream) onto the center of each rectangle leaving a small ½ inch border. In a separate bowl, mix the apple slices, sugar and cinnamon until the slices are covered. Arrange apple slices over the top of the frangipane and sprinkle with remaining sugar and cinnamon. Brush the exposed pastry with an egg wash. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
