Kelly Clarkson + Fair Trade

y Roger

All this month, we have been celebrating Fair Trade! One of our highlights came in the form of a country-pop artist named Kelly Clarkson, who serenaded an intimate group of 200, a few weeks ago.

You knew it was going to be a fun night when Kelly Clarkson walked onto the stage and immediately kicked off her shoes. “I want to show off my pedicure” she grinned, and then launched into a powerhouse version of her number one hit Since U Been Gone. As part of the Green Mountain Coffee brand’s Great Coffee, Good Vibes, Choose Fair Trade Campaign, the incomparable Ms. Clarkson was performing an exclusive live-stream concert at New York City’s Highline Ballroom. In addition to the ecstatic guests in attendance, many hundreds more watched the show online on the Green Mountain Coffee Facebook page.

The set list also included crowd favorites like Walk Away, People Like Us, and Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You). Between songs, Kelly spoke at length about her recent trip to several coffee-growing regions in Peru, where she learned first-hand about the Fair Trade movement. Kelly was impressed with the pride and commitment exhibited by the small-scale farming communities and spoke from her heart about the people she met and the knowledge she gained during her journey.

It was a magical, memorable evening. And if you missed it when it aired live, no problem – tune in and create your own memories when the concert is rebroadcasted on Thursday, October 24th, at 7:00pm! (Check out the Green Mountain Coffee Facebook page for photos and stories from Kelly’s travel log, and for information about the rebroadcast.)

Remember, when you choose Fair Trade, you’re ensuring better coffee for you, and a better life for farmers. It’s a simple choice.

Hope to see you at an event real soon….
